Spent 4th of July in a place where fireworks are but a distant thumping: Brazos Bend State Park, southwest of Houston, TX. Hot, stormy, but a great reminder that I maybe shouldn't just put the camper away during the hot months. The A/C might be loud and grumpy, but it still does the trick of providing a refuge from the midday omg wtf it's so hots...

That rack over the tire locker looks handy.

How do you keep things inside the rack when you are traveling down the road?

They're just wedged in. Both bag and box have light contents (the box is often entirely empty, the bag just has a dump hose), but the bag in particular is a tight fit, so a good bit of friction + little weight means they stay put.chin_k wrote: July 6th, 2018, 11:43 am How do you keep things inside the rack when you are traveling down the road?
The previous owner used that rack to hold a pair of light folding chairs. He had a bungee cord that went up and over them to hold them down. They didn't suit me at all, so I ditched them, and the bungee cord decayed in the sun. I keep thinking I should add a cargo net for insurance, but haven't gotten around to it. I probably still should. The contents are not particularly valuable, but they could be a hazard for vehicles following. On my ever-growing to-do list...

Hi Kirah - took a look at your photo album and love the picture of your dog stretched out on your bed; Looks like there's no room left for you!

We've yet to travel with our 110 lb. German Shepherd "Rufus" but we've been training him at home to lie in the middle of the bed down by our feet so he knows where he'll be allowed to be when on the bed. Will be interesting to see if his training transfers over to the Chinook when we decide he's mature enough to travel with us. He just turned three years old, which is technically when male Shepherds reach maturity, but right now he's still acts more like a rebellious 17 year old teen.

I heard that the only canine that ever reach maturity is the wolf.

I had a heeler who was a grumpy old woman by the time she was 5
Current pup has been camping since she was 6 months (currently just over a year and a half old). I wanted her to learn camping manners and habits along with all the household stuff. First trip she was suspicious of everything. Then she came nose-to-nose with her first armadillo, and now she can't wait to get in the camper and go again
