Hi and welcome!

Looks like you have a Mobilodge 2200. Pretty much everything I know about them (which is precious little) can be found on this "Tin Can Tourists" page. The Mobilodge is up near the top of the page. There is a bit of text, some photos, and even some floorplans, etc.

http://www.tincantourists.com/wiki/doku ... dSPlaaANek

That article also says the Mobilodge gets a mention in the following book (but it may only be a mention, I don't know):

”Mobile Mansions: Taking Home Sweet Home on the Road” by Douglas Keister (Gibbs Smith, Publisher 2006-03-03 ~ ISBN: 1586857738 ~ Paperback

We do have a few Dodge/Chinook folks here, although I think they all (or mostly?) have the cutaway chassis "18-plus" style Chinook vs. the Class A Mobilodge. You never know though. Maybe you will bring other Mobilodge owners out of the woodwork.

Thank you for the information. Unit have been sent in this file for about 12 years not fired not moved used for storage. In the process of cleaning and figure out where to start. Got the motor fired up and moved to my house at this time. Unit has good Bones the only problem it has all the seals of basically gone. Restoration work will be in progress on this. This is a good tinker toy. Looking for base information and ideas on restoration.

I have no personal experience with that model of chinook but i do know quite a bit about the old dodge engines and drivetrains etc. if you need any help in that Dept.

You may know this already but if not ........That rig you have there is built on dodge,s class A motorhome chassis m300- m500 the smaller concourse models like the one i have and the 18+ models were built on dodges MB class van based cutaway chassis .

Do you know what size engine it has ? The Most common engines in those old m300-500 series mh chassis was either a 318 or a 413.

I figured the Dodge folks would chime in. Different chassis, but it's cool that you know about the engines, etc.

Thank you I'm in Casper Wyoming for some of you. Yes it has a 413 in it with the 727 transmission. The one question I have at the moment is what front seats were designed for this unit. Someone has just put in Ford style seats. I'm suspecting that there were some captain style rotating chairs in this unit due to the design of the front End. And where do I find a set?

I don't have any idea what might have been there, although I agree with you that it's very likely that at least the passenger seat rotated, and probably both did.

So there are two components: The base (which is where you get the swivel action), and the seat on top of it (which is usually what does any reclining type motion). In the cutaway chassis (like the Chinooks many of us have, with a "van front" and Chinook back), you start with the standard Ford base (non-swiveling) and the standard Ford seat. Various companies then make either seats or bases or both. For example, Chinook (in my era) used Flexsteel brand seats on the non-swiveling stock Ford bases (no real point to swiveling with the layouts we have on the 21-footers, at least from the factory). Another camper van I had used the stock Ford seats on non-stock swiveling bases. Or of course they could do both: aftermarket seats (Flexsteel, for example) on non-stock swiveling bases.

It's a bit more complicated with the airbag-equipped cutaways like we have, because you have to account for the seatbelt pre-tensioners, the Ford stock systems, etc. In your rig, I imagine the sky's the limit, as long as you maintain structural integrity for the seat base and the seatbelt (presuming you have lap belts).

One place you could start is Bradd & Hall, which is a company in Indiana that does a lot of RV seating (including both Class B/C and Class A as you have). They have Flexsteel and other seats, plus do work, so they may be a good source of info. Indiana is a hub of RV things. Note that they show different seats for Class A (you) and Class C (van/cutaway).

Thank you for the information. I'll be looking into the passenger side swiveled considering the table is right there. For giggles and grins think about putting the air ride seat on the driver side. My friend has a truck that is wrecked with good seats. Setting up their system was real simple. 12 v air pump and small tank is all you need. But will look in the place you suggested and thank you
