Furnace in 2000 Concourse

I’m starting to lean towards the two wire heat only hash mark Suburban thermostat.
I sleep with my feet towards the rear door, because I have long legs and I can dangle them past the kitchen counter.
I tend to sleep on my left side, so having the aisle open space is more comfortable than facing the wall.
I know in Asian culture, feet towards the door is not used often.
Also, I like facing an area where someone can potentially enter the space upright, so I keep one eye on the door while I’m asleep. (My third eye).

I may just get the hash mark Suburban one after all and deal with it!

It sounded like from the questions and reviews that some people were getting hash marks and some with numbers, so maybe you will get lucky if you order the one with the numbers in the picture,

Yeah I saw that...luck of the draw. It won't matter much now. The more I think about it, the more sense it makes to have a heat only stat and not confuse a potential future owner.

Sorry about the poor attempt with the colored wire. How about this: All you need to do is to put the switch anywhere between the red power and the black heat; by cutting the flow of electricity, you essentially shut off the furnace. Easiest is to put the switch right before the black heat wire.

Pulled out of storage: a 2 wire 1994 Chinook's Suburban thermostat circa 197?. A pretty simple device. Clock spring, adjuster, and switch (bottom left). It can even be calibrated with the little red screw for those whom matching numbers matter. The thermometer is accurate to within 5 degrees! I should re-mount it just for the gold style-points. They had a design department, certainly.

Definitely a good looker, but alas, no on/off switch, same as mine. I will most likely end up getting the hash marked Suburban 2 wire one and paint it.

The more I think about it, the more hash marks appeal. I mean, unless you move the thermostat it's practically up on the ceiling, and basically right above where the furnace blows out its heat. I bet 75º on the thermostat equals about 55º down where you living (40 in the shower). Not a problem with hash marks - just turn it up
