Refrigerator not Working

Post by Skillet »

I found out on the start of my last trip that the refrigerator won't come on. It's been working great (and is original) but I haven't used it in a year. I've attached an animated gif but if it doesn't work here, I press the power button and the lights light up like they normally do. Then they all go out in about a second. Shore power or vehicle power, same thing. New board time??

Sounds like a control board problem. I heard one of the replacements is called the Dino board. You may want to give them a call and see if they can confirm the issue with the board.

Thanks. Are they somewhat easy to replace, like accessing it from outside the rig?

Yes. Just pay attention to the instructions, which are good. You may have to make a jumper wire to connect a second ground point on the new card to the existing ground, but that is the trickiest part. The Dino card seems to fix a multitude of circuit problems that occur with the original card over time.

You are awesome. I'm going to hit up the company by email to see what they think.

Back when I still had my propane fridge I experienced the same problem where it would act like it was starting and then would shut off. Dino board and a new thermistor fixed that.
