Gas cap type and generator fuel line to gas tank location?

Making sure my fuel tank is sealed:
Just wondering what type of gas cap you all have. I put on a new Ford FC-975 1/4 turn fuel cap but it doesn't click when you slightly twist it closed? Are they supposed to if they're not threaded? It's weird because it says "tighten until click" but maybe they use the same outer piece for all caps, thread-on and 1/4 turn?
Also wondering where the generator gas line went into the tank. I want to make sure it's properly capped.

I don't know for sure the details on the Chinook generator gas line, but based on my buddy's other-brand E-450, I can make a guess: His went into the same plate on top of the gas tank where the Ford lines went in. He also had a V-10 and an Onan generator even though it was a different brand RV. His did have the mid-ship 55 gallon gas tank whereas I have the behind-axle 37 gallon but I imagine there is still the plate on top where things happen. His generator fuel line had a leak so he had the tank dropped and the line replaced (and also did the fuel pump since the labor was already happening). It had already been "patch fixed" once in such a way that it avoided taking the tank down. Not really recommended to my mind as the leak happened only a few years later and actively leaked gasoline (vs. admitting air).
I think the generator lines on many RV's are somewhat "notorious" for deteriorating (usually noticed as the generator stumbles due to air coming in the cracks in the line). Not sure if Chinook did anything differently. Maybe someone who has replaced it will respond - I hope so as I'm curious too!

Gas cap - I also replaced mine with a new Ford FC-975, P.No. XU5Z 9030 MA. This is the 1/4 turn type that doesn’t click; quite disconcerting at first but it must seal OK as the check-engine light never comes on.
Fuel line - I had my fuel line to the generator replaced when the tank was dropped to replace a bad fuel pump. I suspect older rubber formulations are no longer compatible long term with ethanol in E-10 gas.

That's a good point. Marine fuel line for outboard motors (for example) has been re-formulated to resist ethanol better. However, at least the last time I replaced mine, you could still get both flavors; in other words, you had to choose the newer type hose if you wanted it. So it might be worth checking into for the generator fuel line for those who may have it replaced in future.

If they offer both types of hose, there has to be some advantage of the old type that does not work well with EtOH for it to continue to be on the market. Maybe it is $0.02 cheaper per yard?

Rokrover thabksfor the info on the cap. Agreed it doesn't seem like it's working right, but hopefully it is!
So does the generator fuel line go to the same location as the fuel pump on the tank? My generator and lines are gone so I want to be sure there isn't some cut line or open port somewhere.

PepBoys SKU# 140757 fits my 2003 Premier V10 just fine.
For other year/engine combinations search their website.
Rotates till it clicks three times.
