Suburban Furnace Repairs

I looked through all of the previous posts to see if this subject has been covered, but didn't find any. My NT16S Suburban furnace in my 1995 Concourse is not working properly. First of all the burner will come on, but it keeps going back off and continues to cycle on and off. This is covered in a service manual that I found online, in the trouble shooting guide. The problem that I want to tackle is to get into the furnace to check the fan motor because the fan is pretty noisy when running. I want to see if it's because it needs cleaned or if the bearings are going bad and the fan motor needs replace.
My question is, has anyone worked on their furnace for the same problem? If I can't get my furnace working and the fan operating quieter
I am considering just taking the furnace out and use some other type of heat. So, if any of you have any thoughts or experience with this, I would welcome your help.
Thanks, Alan
