Hi fellow Chinookers.

I just cleaned my furnace burner tube, as it was pretty clogged with soot. The gasket for the combustion chamber was dry rotted, so I replaced it today. Put everything back together, but now the furnace won't even turn on. I did try reseating the tube a couple of times and still nothing. Was operating perfectly prior to this.
I noticed black soot on the outer exhaust, so that's what prompted me to take a look at things.
Does anyone have any advice for this?

Well, I too recently removed my burner for cleaning. Prior to doing this my burner would light, but burner was not heating up sufficiently, so it would only blow luke warm air. However, after cleaning the burner, now my furnace will turn on, burner will ignite, but then immediately go out and not re-ignite.

I have a "tune-up" kit coming that has replacement gaskets for both the igniter as well as the burner, so I hope that maybe somehow air from the blower is entering the burner chamber and blowing out the burner, and new gaskets will solve this issue.

I also plan to check, or have checked the propane pressure to the furnace, as it requires 11" of supply. So Im thinking that maybe the regulator pressure needs to be increased to provide sufficient flow to the burner.
