Chinook RV

Any idea why the exterior light on the passenger side, under the awning, comes on when I start the generator ? 1999 Concourse. Is it a reminder that the generator is running? The light appears to remain on while the generator is running then goes out/off when I shut the generator off.
Why is that?

Now you got me wondering. But mine is blown so I wouldn't know anyway.
