Hello everyone.
I just signed up this evening as I just got home in my new to me
2003 Chinook Baja. I bought it in Madison Wisconsin and drove it
home to Boise Idaho. It has the 7.3 Powerstroke with 63000 original
miles on it. I hope to convert it to a 4x4 at some point. I already need
to figure out where to get parts for the rig. Both the propane tank and
the house battery tray need to be replaced. any info and help is greatly
appreciated. Take care, Steve Bilo.

oh cool, a diesel baja. I thought all Baja's were 4x4 from the factory. Obviously not.. but cool none the less. Can you share any pics?

If you do a search, you should be able to find info on propane tank replacement here. As for the battery tray, depends on the condition, you maybe able clean and repaint it.

Weird......

I thought all Baja's were 4x4 as well???

But that is the 2nd baja bought recently that was 2wd. Jason's camo Baja was 2wd.

Couple 4wd options......

Quadvan Oregon
Advanced 4wd Utah

But if it were me and I lived where you do, I'd order a lift from ujoint and have that Colorado Van company install it. They've done a few installs with good success.

Congrats!!!!

Is yours the one on eBay, it was a good looking unit. My wife said I couldn’t have a third one in my driveway. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do ours.

Does that means that she is amicable to the idea of getting a third one and put it in storage? Do you have a space to build a garage for the 3rd one? I went thru a lot of work to convince her just to get my first rig!

ImageGreetings Mr. Bilo,

I had to deal with the battery tray in 2014 when I acquired my Premier. After pricing a new replacement, I found a local welding shop willing to fabricate a replacement for the deteriorated base piece, painted it, reassembled, and was as good as new for about $25.

Since then I have relocated the AGM batteries inside the coach, so the tray is MT, awaiting the possible addition of more battery capacity.

Mind if I ask how much it went for?
