what are the wires under passenger seat?
what are the wires under passenger seat?
While thinking about installing new captains seats I noticed on the passenger side under the seat is a wiring harness with only 2 wires I think. My drivers seat is all electric but not the pass. side. the wire harness comes from under the floor right about in the middle of the seat and then goes out of site at the seat frame. Can anyone tell me what it goes to? Also on my driver side set of electric buttons, sitting in the seat the left and middle button works well. There is a 3rd button to the right of those. When I push that button "up or down" it does nothing except make a single "bump" sound. What is it supposed to do?

Probably for the seat belt warning light.

Re: what are the wires under passenger seat?
My wife is out with the Rig delivering some groceries to our daughter--we did the "Old Folks Early Run" for grocery shopping to avoid the crowds. I'll check under the passenger seat for wiring and go over the driver electric seat buttons when she gets back and report. Stay tuned.

Re: what are the wires under passenger seat?
Just got back from looking at the driver electric switch and what lies under the passenger seat.
I don't have any wires or anything under the passenger seat of my Rig (2004 Premier).
Regarding the driver seat switch...has three distinct adjustment nobs/buttons (see attached pic).
The set of buttons on the right in the pic (if I have it oriented correctly) adjusts up and down.
The set of buttons on the left in the pic (same caveat) adjusts tilt.
The 4-way knob in the middle adjusts forward and back in vertical mode, and seems to also adjust tilt in the horizontal mode...I can't quite figure out, let alone describe, how that tilt differs from the button tilt described earlier.
Hope that helps...some.

Re: what are the wires under passenger seat?
Looking at the picture the way it appears in the post, I think the orientation is opposite of what I stated. Buttons on the left operate up/down, and the buttons on the right operate tilt. Apologies for any confusion.
