Best way of getting gasoline out for emergency

Greetings Chinookers, I dropped back in to see if there is an easy answer to this...
Here we sit near Seattle, all mostly quarantined for the time being. Thinking about the possible future increased limiting of essential services if stuff gets weirder.
Wife and I are pretty well stocked and doing well so far, but I thought of worst cases, and how to get at the 35 gallons of gas in my Chinook should I need to rely on my 10 KW generator for well and freezer, etc.
I found that a 1/2 " siphon tube will not go in to the gas filler pipe any more than a foot or so. Does anyone have an opinion on the best way to get fuel out? I see a tank drain plug and a section of big hose in the filler tube assembly, both access points. Is there a way to disconnect at the fuel filter and pump gas into a gas can via fuel pump? Anybody?
Thanks, Roly
I promise not to swipe gas out of anyone else's Chinook.
