Does anyone know where I might find the plastic U channel that goes around the shower door opening. It is approximately 1" wide and off white. Mine wants to pull away from the shower wall leaving a gap for water intrusion.

I've seen posts in the past, and I don't think anyone has found the exact one. People have mentioned some that "work" though.

But, if you have the trim and it fits, I would re-secure it if it were me. New trim would also have to be secured so it's nothing extra to do. Perhaps the adhesive originally used has dried out or was meager to begin with. If it's all the way off, you might consider treating the exposed ends of the MDF. There's no real "cure" for MDF/water, but you can assist. OTOH, depending on what adhesive you use that could do double duty and effectively seal off what's behind the trim.

Thanks for the input. It seems the shower wall thickness bows out in the area where the door closure is mounted pushing the molding away. I've tried screws and adhesive but the wall core isn't solid enough to hold. I would like to find U channel with more flexibility and wider sides to compensate for shower wall issue.

This is what most have used for a replacement part.
The brand name of the product is CeilingMax Acoustic Ceiling wall bracket (part number 150-008). It's made of white PVC.

I found mine at a local Menard's home improvement store for about $4. If not Menard's, you may have better luck ordering the part from Amazon. About $5 plus $10 shipping.

I just received the ceiling Max molding and it works great. One side is a bit wider than the other but you can have the wider side facing in or out. A special thanks to HOOSIER B from any of us needing this shower door opening fix.

(I guess now I can stop treating my unbroken shower trim like it's irreplaceable gold )

This is great info! I need something like this for the lower trim, since when this rig leaked, the MDF swelled and basically pushed the trim off. I need something a little wider as a temporary measure before I have that area replaced by a carpenter I've been talking with.
