wall mounted phone

I saw this picture on one of the RV classified post:

This is related to one of the many mysteries related to my Chinook. On the driver's side, there is a brass hook mounted on the partition. But on the passenger's side, there is a hole there, and maybe 2 or 4 screw holes. I always wonder what was on there before. The picture of a mounted phone seem to make the most sense. I always thought there is a second brass hook there, but it does not explains the presence of the hole.

So anyone know if it is what is missing on my rig? I have cell phone, and never used the phone jack/antenna connector outside. Maybe I will do some investigation and see where the phone line terminates.

That would make sense, I have seen others with the phone. That's funny though, my brass hook is on the passenger side partition.....

Yep, that was a stock, deluxe feature! My '99 Concourse came with a wall-mounted phone. Curly cord and all.

Although I pretty much immediately removed the CB, TV, VCR, Mr. Coffee, etc. I kept the phone for quite a while. It just made me smile. Eventually I took it out though. It was mounted to a wall plate and had a few skinny phone wires. And yes, there was one of the hooks on the driver's side pillar, then the phone on the passenger side pillar instead of another hook (but there is a matching hook by the door if you need symmetry).

"It's for you!"

I still have my red touchtone desk phone named "the hot line" in my home office. I also have this in my living room:

I guess you really should have bought a circa-1999 Chinook then. You'd have the wall phone to round out your collection

I love a good trimline phone. My 2004 has a modular phone jack as well. (I'm a flip phone guy now ;) )

Trimline!!! That's what I was trying to remember. I knew it wasn't a Princess phone, but couldn't think of what it was. Now I can stop wondering :D

Hilarious that it still came in 2004. I thought maybe mine was the last dinosaur, phone-wise. Nope.

(I hear you on the flip phone. I was sort of forced into a smart phone. Yeah, it does a lot, but it's also very heavy and you have to be so careful of it (or have a gigantic case to protect it). I miss my flip phone many days.
