Uploading .pdf documents

I mentioned this in another thread, but figured it might be good to ask in a dedicated one too.
Do you know if it would be possible to make it so that .pdf docs could be uploaded? I have tried to upload a couple but get the message that .pdf is not an acceptable format.
I had a couple of useful things (Chinook roof construction, battery info) but they are in .pdf so I couldn't add them. I tried taking a screen shot and turning it into a .jpg, but it made the details so blurry they were pointless. There have also been a few manuals that might have been good to add.
I know you are a "volunteer" and I have no idea how difficult this might be, but figured it would not hurt to ask.
