Chinook-Swaping?

Xatlatc makes me jealous again.

I want to visit the East Coast. Lived in New England for ten years, but have not been back since I moved out here 20+ yrs ago. I would like to have the Chinook with me. I guess part of the fun of RV'ing is driving across the Continent, but right now, I do not have a two extra weeks to drive back and fore. I think there are some kind of swinger club that let us fly across, and pick up a RV and tour around; in return, we will also let other "swapers" to use ours.
What do you folks think about these arrangements? I really love to drive across the country (did it 3 times, but that was harsh for me) and take it slow in a Chinook, but just can't take 3 or 4 weeks off with my schedule. I guess I can rent a RV, but feel like a waste of money if I already have one.

uhh.. in this context, your idea of a "swinger" is a person traveling left and right across USA? (just confirming this thread isn't headed for.. uhh.. well.. you know.. let's keep it to PG13/R'ish.. or something)

While apparently RV swingers are a big thing...
I think you meant "swapper". Like:

Well, in my defence, (or is it defense?), I am foreign to both the English language and the swinger thing.
Don't tell my wife, but I feel I treat my Chinook better than I treat her
Title of the thread updated to the proper term.

Haha, no problem k. I was fairly sure you didn’t mean the other thing. I didn’t realize English wasn’t your first language. Just out of curiosity, what is?

Talk about humbling: I don't even want to think about how I'd come across on a non-English forum --- never would have guessed English wasn't your native language.
(I'd think something like "Chinook exchange" would probably be most neutral-ish, just for the sake of discussion.)

kdarling suggested the exchange web site, and I am a bit interested because some of the members are international. However, I would not want to pay the fee and not able to find any matching one to swap.

I just meant that the wording "Chinook exchange" would probably be the "neutral" way to say it (without the possible connotations of swapping or swinging). I have no problem with any of the three ways to say it, and it was clear what you meant -- just added that note in case you were interested in another way to say it. As soon as you mentioned that English was not your native language, I flashed back to all of the innocent-yet-embarrassing mistakes I made when I was speaking another language. Unintentional vocabulary gaffes such as telling a mate how much I liked him as a friend -- but not realizing that the way I said it meant I was madly in love with him (yep, that was at Easter dinner with about 30 people at the table) There were plenty of other examples too
