coach batteries

HELP! Just charged my two year old batteries overnight but can't get them to turn on. They are a year old and when I tested them they are showing 12.7 v. However, when I unplug shore power, I don't get any power going to the panel. The switch above diver's seat won't turn on without shore power. But shows that batteries are charging when shore power is on. Any suggestions???????

is there a 50A fuse that connect the coach batteries to the rig's LVD? Check that to make sure you have connection there.

I would check the other end of the fuse on the LVD. See the diagram Blue posted here.

I only knows it is between the battery and the LVD. If your LVD have the power, then it is something else. If no power on the LVD, you need to find the location by search on the forum.... or just following the wire. (In other word, I don't know where it is. Sorry.)

I have power in the LVD on both the terminals (large red wires) when plugged into the shore power but nothing when I unplug.

You need to trouble shoot when there is no shore power. So it read 12.7v at the battery terminals, but zero at the LVD? I think you need to look for the fuse or figure out why power does not reach your LVD.

- Pulled all the wiring going through the floor of the Chinook (solar and LVD) which left a pinky-sized hole in the floor. My plan is to enlarge the hole to 1 ½ inch. I removed the 50A fuse under the chassis (in the white box).

I don't know if it should be in a white box in your rig.... just cut and paste a post for you.

BTW, check the voltage of the batteries with the shore power off. The 12.7 v you see maybe is from the converter. Don't trust anything at this point.

Should there be voltage on the three wires going into the positive pole on the coach battery?
