Deal on Dream Dinettes

Post by kdarling »

If, like me, you've always wanted a Dream Dinette table lift, but were put off by the $200 plus $45 shipping costs, here's a rare chance to get one cheap off eBay.

The ad says they're returns, seconds, etc... but mine was fine as far as I can tell.

There's probably only about a couple left now, so don't dawdle.

Mine came in just a few days, and I painted it dark to match my interior, and installed it today. Made a top wood trim piece for it, but still need to adjust it up another half inch...

Now even my daughter can lower the table to be a bed, by just flipping the lock lever and then pushing down on it.

To reverse, just lift it a couple of inches and the gas strut softly raises it back to table height.

On the downside, its arm splits storage underneath if you like to leave the table down, but this is a mod meant for those who raise/lower a lot.

Update: the RV surplus eBay auction was down to just one left, so I wrote him and he added four more.

Get one quick if you want one. Here's a video of how it works:

Of course, there was no way my Dream Dinette... as easy as it is to use... was gonna stay stock :D

So I replaced the gas strut with an 8" 200lb capacity linear actuator, wired to a power window switch I placed behind the dinette, and voila! Now I have a motorized dinette table -> bed.

Took a quick video before going to bed:

kdarling, I remember seeing these a while back before I purchased a Lagun table. The seller, I think, is Bontrager RV Supply in White Pigeon, Michigan. Only 40 minutes from me. This place is huge and is primarily a "surplus" not a salvage store. It felt like a Home Depot for RVs! Unfortunately, their online sales are eBay store only, but you can email them directly for a part inquiry.

ps: your motorized table mod is really cool!
